A cooperarive listening and writing activity.

As you listen to what JFK says in his speech, try to write as many words or sentences as possible.

1. Do it again, now complete your previous text.
2. Now share your production with two friends. How many complete sentences have you got all together?
3. Finally write the most interesting ideas from the text.
4. We can make a kind of poster or graffitti for the class.

El objetivo es que los alumnos se aprendan la poesía para trabajar la destreza: Speaking.
Además es muy interesante trabajar con las diferentes técnicas para memorizar. ¿Cuántas se nos ocurren?
Lo mejor es dejar a los alumnos que lo maduren y que al día siguiente traigan las ideas. Puede haber sorpresas....

One Smile Makes Two

I usually teach this poem by Robert Burns to my students:

A smile is quite a funny thing
It wrinkles up your face
And when it's gone you never find
Its secret hiding place.
But far more wonderful it is
to see what smiles can do
Yo smile at one
They smile at you
and so one smile makes two
